So Far in 2015by Catherine Walls on 06/27/15
It's already the end of June. Half the year has passed! On April 3rd I broke my foot and that has proven to be a blessing and a curse. It's really slowing me down which makes teaching classes a challenge but keeps me in the studio busily painting away. So I think that helped me work harder and it paid off with some honors of which I am very proud:
In March, "Vertigo" won the 2nd place prize at the Delaware Watercolor Society's Juried Fine Arts Exhibit at the Corkran and Tubbs Gallery at Rehoboth Art League.
Then in April, I learned that I was selected as one of 12 Delaware By Hand Masters to exhibit at the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, DE. Once every three years, the Biggs hosts a juried competition of their Delaware By Hand artist membership in order to select individual artists that are deemed masters of their craft. The 2015 winning members, as well as their finest submissions, are selected by Brandi P. Clark, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. "Beautiful Girl on Les Rambles", "Alone Together" and "Ghost Gum" were on display in the Biggs until June 14th.
More exhibits and competitions to come, I'll keep you posted...or should I say "I'll keep you blogged"
